Conclusion

Elite pulled out all the plugs to make the P6BX-A+ and the P6BA-A+ the most flexible motherboard when it comes to upgrade options, and even for this alone the ECS group of company deserved kudos.

Although the introduction of Socket 370 adapter cards somehow enabled other boards to achieve a similar upgrade flexibility. However, these Elite boards make for a painless and inexpensive upgrade, apart from not having to worry about possible compatibility issues of adapter cards.

The two Elite boards we tested ran a respectable business performance score, apart from a competitive gaming score. However, the P6BX-A+ is our first choice between the two as they sell at street prices only about P500 price difference. But for those with tight budget, the P6BAT-A+ is also a good alternative.

Price is also another strong point of the two boards with the BX-based version selling at about P 4,000 while the Elite BX (VIA OEM) based board selling around P3,500 or more.

True, speed demons would have to look for another motherboard—albeit more pricey ones. But for their stability, features, upgradability, and price, the Elite P6BXT-A+ and the newer P6BAT-A+ are hard to beat.
